OK, so what have we been up too... or more importantly, what has ashlee been up to?

 

May - we did alot of hiking around (BX Falls), and some travelling.  started out the month, flying down to Vancouver, with papa, and meeting up with granny who had driven down earlier in the week for work meetings.  stayed at a fancy hotel, and spent the weekend with uncles, ben and tom. :)  went to Queen Elizabeth park, and also the vancouver aquarium.  we drove around stanley park.  wow, the devastation from the winter storms of 2006 is/was crazy to see!

we also started working on our back yard....  it was just dirt, because the developer only put down grass in half of it. nice, eh?  so we got some rocks, and went to work. :)

at the end of the month, Sam came up to visit ashlee for the memorial day weekend in the US.  they had a great time hanging out, and playing together.

 

June - Ashlee had her first haircut!  we went to auntie starla's, and ashlee got bangs.  she was sooo excited, and proud of her new 'do!  we also finished up the rocks in the backyard, and got a play area set up for ashlee. has the climbing wall, the slide, and a wading pool. she absolutely loves it.  oh yes, and she has a turtle sandbox! :)  for grandpa's day, we took papa to the airshow in vernon. it was a great day.  ashlee loves planes, and so was fascinated wtih them all. and we got to ride a bus from the parking lot to the show, which was perhaps even more exciting?!?  then later in the month, my mum and i took ashlee out to this guys house outside of armstrong, who has a minirailroad set up in his backyard. it was great.  took him 10 yrs to build. anyways, we had a nice ride, and then got to play on thomas, and the other railroad cars he had set up :)

 

july so far - we celebrated canada on july 1st.  we spent all weekend down at the country club, playing in the lake.. as you can see, ashlee was in heaven, and even drinking the lake water. oops!  we also went out boating with granny and papa, and that was fun too!  ashlee even had a small nap in the boat. ha!

the next weekend we headed out to Canmore, AB... some our relatives were having a family reunion and we joined in.  todd, jamie and kayn also met us there for the weekend. it was great fun. see pics in the canmore album.  the kiddos loved playing together.  we also road the gondola in banff, and stopped at the enchanted forest. :)

 

in general, ashlee is growing like a weed.  she is sooo tall now, and has long long legs. :)  she is talking up a storm, and her singing gets better and better.  she also loves reading her books. and will sit on the couch and "read" to herself. hehe! it is very cute. :)  she is really doing good at potty training, and i think when i'm on holidays and have a full week at home with her, we will concur it, and be rid of diapers for good (except for night time).  she is doing good at Bonnie's house (her daycare)... she loves her friends there, and enjoys it immensely. :)

 

for me, all is well. work is going along great. we are busier than ever, and there are a few trips coming up in the future. :)  but can't give out too many details... at least not yet!

 

am taking time off at the end of july.  todd, jamie and kyan will be out to visit.... that will be alot of fun!  also jojo, chris and nathan will be in town for a long weekend, too.  all sorts of visitors to have fun and play with :)

WOW!!!  Could time fly any faster ?????

 

March had both cold and sunny times, and went by quickly.... and then April arrived, and Ashlee and I made a trip to Yakima to visit her daddy.  we celebrated easter weekend down there... it was alot of fun!  check out the photos in the April album. :)

 

it is amazing how much ashlee changes day by day... she is talking up a storm, and LOVES to sing. :)  we are in swimming lessons again, and she loves the water. :)

 

you can see that she had her first fishing trip... didn't catch anything, but had alot of fun! 

and she went hiking, and saw her first waterfall :)  we went to fintry falls, and she did VERY well! :)  a little trooper, i tell ya!

Well, we started with a trip to Nanaimo for Maddy's mum's memorial service.  it was really nice.  down on her favorite beach, ect. and spending the weekend with family was wonderful!  Ashlee LOVED the plane trip. you can see the silly picture of her in the feb2007 album. :)

 

not alot happened in february... just waiting for winter to be gone, and spring to arrive. :)

 

ashlee is talking up a storm... more and more each day. and even making 4 word sentences. :) so that is great!

I just really enjoy spending time with her! :)

 

Sheri and I went to a bare naken ladies concert. that was alot of fun :)

 

and now it is march....

 

well, it is true... my baby is now a little girl!!!!  where has the time gone?!?!

 

on the 21st, she turned 2 and we had a party for her.  (see pictures in the January 2007 album)  boy, oh boy, what a fun day that was!!!

her aunt Janessa, and 2 little cousins, james and johnathan, had come up from Yakima for the weekend, and that was a really special treat.  it was the first time for them to meet ashlee, and it went really well. the kids loved playing together, and hopefully we will see them again soon!

 

work is still going well for me, still having some trips here and there, but it keeps life interesting.

 

had a few sad things happen.  my cousin, burman, had a heart attack before xmas, and passed away during the holiday season. he was only 43. :(  and then just before ashlee's birthday, grandma mick (maddy's mom) had a heart attack, and passed away too.  we will actually be heading down to nanaimo next weekend for her memorial.

 

as for ashlee, she is talking up a HUGE storm... it is amazing all the words she knows....  and boy, does she ever love singing alot!  she is a definite music lover.   Also, the day before her birthday, she decided it was time to learn to use the potty.  so we have been potty training ever since, and she is a CHAMP!!!  even though she wears a pullup to daycare (just in case)  she rarely uses it, and almost always asks to use the potty.  it is wonderful!!  even while we are out visiting friends, or family, she will ask to use the potty.  i'm SOOO proud of her! :)  so she got to buy herself some dora underwear which she loves.  if you didn't get it from the birthday photos, she is in LOVE with dora... oh my goodness, it is crazy!

 

right now, both her and i are fighting colds. :(  hopefully, it will pass soon!  early to bed, and that will help!

well, let's see... the last i wrote was beginning of december!  so the rest of the month FLEW by!  i went to toronto twice for business, and ashlee got to stay with papa and granny!  which, of course, she LOVES!!!

then it was time for xmas.  my favorite time of year, and it turns out, ashlee's favorite time of year, too!  she loved all the decorations and xmas lights.... a favorite evening activity was going for a walk around our neighborhood, oooohing and aaaaahing over the xmas lights. :)  she loved it!  i got 2 weeks off for xmas, and that was wonderful.  i was pretty burnt out from work!

 

the holidays were really nice.  we spent time with family and friends...jojo, chris and nathan were out for a week, carmen was up wtih her two little girls, my stepbrother was home, ect, ect.  ashlee and i had the whole family over for xmas breakfast, and gift opening. it was great. :)  you can see all the photos in the December 2006 album.

 

for new year's, ashlee went to her friend, kyle's house, and i went to lisa's for a evening with friends. it was nice, and relaxing, and alot of fun.  laughed alot :)  a good way to start 2007!!

WOW.... Time has flown by here....  I see that last time i blogged was September. Crazy!!

 

well, we are just coming off a VERY VERY cold cold spell.... -25 degrees Celsius!  but Ashlee and I both survived it quite well. In fact, Ashlee seems to LOVE winter... maybe even more than her momma! :)  if you look at the pictures in the november album, you can see her thanking the sky for the snow. hehe!  speaking of which, even though it has been so cold, we have somehow managed to get quite abit of snow....  we will be going up to the ski hill this weekend to enjoy it, and stay at the condo.  another favorite of ashlee's is to drive around looking at xmas lights... constant squealing, ooohhhing, and ahhhiing from the backseat... lots of pointing! and yelling at mommy to look! hehe!

 

So back to October, to play catch up!  Ashlee was 21 months then.... and really starting to chatter up a storm... she also appears to be a music lover, and will hum/sing to herself constantly.  it is really quite cute!  we celebrated my birthday, and she wanted my cake more than me. :)  I took my first business trip to Dallas, TX, and really enjoyed it. :)  although i missed my baby! 

 

The big happening in october was Ashlee's dad came to visit her for a weekend, and that went well.  he brought his mom with him, so that was nice.  It had been awhile since ashlee saw him, but after the first bit she was friendly and didn't play shy. :)  at the beginning of the month, she went through a faze that she didnt' like men!  so i'm glad that was over by the time sam got here.  i think him and his mom really enjoyed their time with ashlee. :)

 

For Halloween, she was a pony, and boy did she like that! in fact, we still have the costume out and she plays with it. hehe :)  we saw a stuffed, plush pony about 1.5 feet tall at superstore, and she runs up and hugs it, and then gets on to ride it every time we are there... perhaps santa is going to bring that for xmas, i guess we will see. :)  anyways, back to halloween, i have learned that she takes after me, and has a BIG BIG sweet tooth.... all candy must be hidden, and hiding places must change often, cuz she has a memory like an elephant!

 

then november.....  I went on another business trip... to montreal, Quebec this time. what a beautiful city! i will definitely plan a vacation there to spend more time. :)  this time when i got home, ashlee was VERY VERY happy to see me, and didn't leave my side all weekend....

so even though i enjoy the business trips, i'm not sure i like what they are doing to her... even though she LOVES staying with her grandparents, and i'm sure they spoil her rotten.....i just miss her!! :(  in november, we had our first snowfall, and what a snowfall it was!! :)  ashlee spent all day at daycare trying to look out the winter and watch it come down. :)  then wanted to play outside all evening in it. hehe!

that first snowfall only last 2-3 days.... but then the latest storm gave us a dump, and i think it is here to stay now for the winter. :)  it snowed friday until monday!!  was beautiful! :)

 

so some things ashlee likes...

- playing wiht her "big" legos... she is constantly building things with them....

- she LOVES LOVes  to read!!! i mean, she really loves it.  first thing in the morning, she will ask me to read to her. i'm glad, cuz i love reading too :)

- she loves the Dora, the explorer show... i tape it, and she watches it every day!!

- xmas lights and decorations....

- chocolate

- the cat, rumbles... she adores this cat....

- her grandparents... the other night, we had supper at my dad's and when i went to go home, she wanted to stay.... oops!

- her binky... we are slowly trying to break this habit.... but she still likes it to go to bed.

- she also appears to like to clean... will play for hours with her dishes, ect, in the sink.... and also has a toy broom, that she helps me sweep the floor with.... and give her a cloth, and she will dust everything within her reach! :)

 

milestones...

- we are somewhat potty training... i'm not working very hard at it, but she is doing good... has used the potty a few times. :) and i'm very proud of her!

- goes to bed like a champ, and has started brushing her own teeth (mommy still helps sometimes)

- is already trying to tie her own shoes....

- she like to help get dressed

- is starting to do the animal sounds, meow like a kitty, moo like a cow, bark like a dog, ect...she can also do the siren sound, and the "choo-choo" like a train. :)

- her vocab is picking up.  some days she says more words then others....  and so far, no bad words. hehe!

- she can do alot of physical stuff...  she is definitely a tomboy... loves to run, skip, and jump :)

 

well, that is all i can think of right now :)  she hasn't been to the doctor in a LONG time... and i'm not even sure when she will go again, so i guess i better weigh her at home, and check on how much she has grown... will also need to measure her height, cuz she is VERY tall for her age, i think :)

Yeah, yeah yeah.... i'm late in posting updates... sorry, but damn, Ashlee and I have been having a wonderful Okanagan summer....

oh yeah, and i have been working, working and working.... 2 damn jobs.  that has totally sucked, but well, i needed the money to support ashlee and myself....

 

Anyways, happier things..... july started out with Canada day, and Ashlee celebrated her first one in Canada, wiht the cutest shirt ever, see the pictures in july 2006 album....  I worked that day, so we went to the beach in the morning, and then she got to party at the daycare that afternoon/evening. :)

 

the second job i was talking about, is that i did some filling it at the university, working in the DNA sequencing lab.  it was ok work... nice to be back in the lab, but not too taxing on the brain. :)  and then i was still working my job as the care aide. :)  I had a regular shift, so was nice to see the same people every evening, and get to know them. :)

 

near the end of the month, my brother, Todd, his wife, jamie, and son Kyan came out to visit for 10 days.  it was SOOOO much fun.  i really hope we can convince them to move back to the okanagan so the kids can grow up together... i'll keep working on it. :)

 

then we got to august..... more of the same.... working the university job, and the care aide job... and ashlee getting cuter and cuter every day. :)  she got to spend lots of time with her grandparents, so that was nice for them all. :)  she is, of course, spoiled!

 

she has gotten more teeth... we are up to 18 or something like that???  she is still sporting a mullet, or hockey hair. haha :)  and NO, i have not cut it! haha!  she is getting taller and taller every day.... she is as tall as a 3 yr old at her new daycare. :)

 

speaking of which, i got a new job! :)  I'm working as a chemist for a new company in Kelowna, called ID Global.... we do asset management and anti-counterfeit work.  i'm really really excited about it.....  I will now have a regular day job, that pays well enough, that i don't have to be working constantly, and now ashlee and i can have a somewhat "normal" life. :)  the company website is: http://www.idglobal.ws/ if you want to check it out. :)

 

Ashlee can communicate pretty well. :)  shakes or nods her head, depending on how she wants to answer you.  she understands EVERYTHING you say. :)  she also is very interested in the potty... so she has her own little princess chair, and she knows generally what it is for.... but we are taking the potty-training very slowly..... when she is ready, she will do it. :)

 

oh wait, i almost forgot the biggest news!!!!

Ashlee and I moved out of grandpa's house, and into our OWN home!!!!  It is beautiful, and we are loving it. :)  been there since the middle/end of july.....  it has a big backyard... it is only half grassed right now, but it is enough that ashlee loves to play out there. :)

Well, it has been FOREVER since I posted an update here!

 

We finished off the month of April in a good way.  I got a job. :) yippeee!!  but before starting, Ashlee, Grandma and I headed out to Alberta to visit my brother, Todd, his wife, Jamie, and their baby, Kyan. :)  It was the first time, Ashlee and I had met the little man, and boy, what a cutie! :)  We had a great time... spent 10 days out there.  had some snow!! ack!  and then HOT sunny weather... such a strange place. haha!  while there, Kyan was baptized, so was nice we could be there for that, and also Ashlee got to ride in a HUGE HUGE tractor. :) wow!  she loved it.  she is definitely a tomboy... she loves trains and tractors right now. :)

 

so middle of may, I started my new job... as a community care aide, and LOVE it. :)  i started as casual, but was getting a fair amount of work.. usually split shifts, so that sucked... but as of today (june28)  I've been hired on in a permanent position... woohooo :)  it is nice to be helping others... and most of the people are SOOO glad when you show up. :)  I have found a great daycare for ashlee.  it is the third one i have tried out.  ack!  the first two just didn't sit well with me.  nothing i can really say was wrong, but one of them, it was the first and only time, i have cried after leaving ashlee behind....  anyways, i guess just mother's intuition, eh?  but now i LOVE caroline, and ashlee loves going there.....

 

Also in May, we travelled down to Vancouver Island.. to Nanaimo, to visit Maddy's mum (my stepgrandma, and Ashlee's Great-grandma)... it was a beautiful trip.... the island is SOOO pretty.. and ashlee enjoyed her first ferry ride. :)  she even did ok in the car for 6 hrs. haha!

 

in the month of June, we finished Ashlee's swim lessons, and she passed!! woohooo... so now she is going into the "duck" lessons. :)  I still need to call the pool, and sign u p for those. :)  we have also been enjoying the beach... she loves to play in the sand and water. :)  She even went for her first boat ride, and loved it. i wasn't there, cuz i was working, but grandma judy took her out....

 

let's see... Ashlee got weighed this week, and was 25 lbs, and she measured in at 32 inches tall! :)  She had her last vaccinations for the next few years, so that is good!  She is running around everywhere!!  she can blow kisses... raisins are amongst her FAVORITE food ever.  sometimes that is ALL she has for breakfast. haha!  we have cut out her morning bottle, and she doesn't seem to mind. she loves to have miniwheats for breakfast.  she loves pineapple, but hates strawberries.  she knows how to point to most body parts on both her own body, and someone else's. :)  she can go up and down the stairs by herself. :) she LOVES driving cars.... and boy, if she is in the car, you don't want to be the one to take her out, ... she will cry and cry, like life is over. haha!  she really knows how to shake her head "NO" when she doesn't want something, or doesn't agree with you.

Hey everyone.... been awhile since we posted..... Yes, that is right... we are now living in Canada!!!! Momma's homeland, and now, Ashlee's. :)  and boy, she must know it, cuz she has settled right in, and is happier than ever!!!  perhaps that is also cuz mum is home all day with her now, too!! haha!

 

Let's see.....last thing we had done, was apply for a job in seattle, well, they kept us hanging forever, and once i REALLY sat down and thought about it, it just seemed like alot of work for me... it is tough being a single mum, and to move to a new place, with no support, would have been a struggle.... so the decision was made to move home.  And i think God must have had a hand in it, cuz at that time, i got laid off from Invitrogen after almost 5 yrs.  sad, but it really was a blessing.  I got a good severance package, and it paid for my move back to canada.  I hadn't been happy in my job ever since... well, for a LONG time, so from that aspect i didn't mind leaving... i had already wanted to quit, was just too chicken to do it.  ya know?  So now we are in Canada..... I have registered for a govt-sponsored employment search/help program. went to 3 days of training and it was great.... i have a good feeling about the job i will eventually get. :)  and for now, i'm just  really enjoying being at home with ashlee.

 

So some Ashlee updates.... she is now RUNNING around.....my dad has a big backyard (we are staying with him for now) and she loves it out there... you can see pictures in the march album. :)  she knows how to kick a ball, and will play kick wth you..... she LOVES to dance.... any time music comes on, up go her arms, and she starts to dance around. it is very cute.... I will try and catch it on video soon. :)  let's see... what else...... i don't know know. there are just too many things i guess. :)  she now has 11 teeth (4 molars)  and i think she is working on more of her front teeth now, cuz she is drooling like crazy!

as you read in my last post... Miss Ashlee turned 1. :)  and she has been busy ever since!  she is now  walking.   yipppeee.... that was her valentine's day gift to her momma!  what a sweet daughter i have, eh?  she knew it would be a hard on this year, and so she stepped up to the plate, and really made my day!  i think i will always love valentine's now. :) haha!  she is like a little frankenstein, walks with her arms out in front like him. hehe! it is cute. you can check out videos of it, at www.dropshots.com/hansensgrrl

 

let's see..... we had grandma judy here with us for a couple of the weeks during the last month. that was really nice.  especially since ashlee seemed to have an never-ending cold!!! it was crazy. but she is finally all better. no more sickies... and grandma judy went back to canada... we are very sad. :(  but ..... she had to go home and see the newest member of the family...

 

Kyan Alexander Befus was born at 6:01am on January 26.  Todd and Jamie were very glad to have him arrive.  i have pictures of him in the january photo album.  he was a BIG baby.... 9.9 lbs! ouch! :)  but everyone is doing well, and they are adjusting to having some little controlling their every move. hehe!  ashlee and i are very anxious to get up there and see him ourselves. :)

 

let's see... what else... oh yes, we went to the San Diego Zoo with friends at the end of January.  what a fun time!!! Ashlee did really well, and actually loved most of the animals. :)  not sure what her favorite was though! will have to go again. :)  

I'm actually really dying to take her to Disneyland..... trying to wait until she is older, but if we end up moving, will take her before then. :)

 

Speaking of which... the goal was moving to Canada in April, with or without a job.... I'm just really sick of my job here.... which drove me to send out random resumes to jobs both here in san diego, and in seattle, wa... just for the hell of it.  well, guess what?!?  apparently people like my resume. hehe :)  i have already had an interview here in san diego, and am currently waiting to hear back on a job in seattle.   i'm not interested in another job here at all, but it is good practice for me to go and interview, since i haven't interviewed in 5 yrs!!!  and i am happy to say it went well :)  the seattle job is suppose to get back to me by wednesday, so everyone CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!! :)

 

so today, ashlee and i just hung out.... it was soo fun just playign with her.  it has been awhile since it was just me and her.... we have had soo much company, and then with working, ect.... so it was nice to have today to ourselves. ... we also headed out to a friend's baby shower, and of course, ashlee put on a good show... heheh!  such a ham.  she just took off from me, didn't even care if i was in the room.... just was busy playing with toys, and "talking" to people!  she also was trying to play with the house cat   unfortunately, that cat wasn't so friendly and was hissing and spitting at her, and she just kept staring at it, like what is wrong with you!?!?!  i guess she is use to miss rumbles, who is full of love...

 

anyways, i need to go and organize more pictures on the computer...

So Ashlee's birthday was saturday, the 21st. :)  hard to believe my baby is already one!

we had a party for her, and it was wonderful!!!

she enjoyed all the presents, and all the friends that came over. :)

she is growing up much too fast!!

 

on monday, she had her doc visit... she weighed in at 22lbs 3oz. (75%ile) and her height was 30.75 inches(90%ile).  the doctor was very pleased with her progress and stats... said she is ahead of herself in somethings. :)  I was very proud!

Well, the month started off with Grandma Judy going back home to Canada, and Ashlee going to daycare for the first time in her little life.  It is an inhome daycare, with about 7-12 children, and 3 adults watching them. :)  the household also has 2 dogs, and a cat.... with a big backyard and lots of toys for the children to play with!  Right from the start, Ashlee loved it there.  She terrorized the dogs all day, and loved playing with all the other kids. :)

 

2 weeks later, we were on the plane back home to Canada for the holidays.  What a great time we had.  it was wonderful to be with family and friends.... and just be HOME!  it snowed a couple of times, but it was actually quite "warm" out, so that was cool!  we spent a few days up on the skihill at Grandpa's condo, which was alot of fun :)  Ashlee and I both spent the first week of the vacation fighting off cold/flu.... it sucked. it was ashlee's first time sick, and it wasn't pretty... but through it all, she was actually a pretty happy camper.  unfortunately, it seemed like it was the holiday of sickness, as quite a few family members also got sick over the break.....

We also got to go to Ava's first birthday party while there. Ashlee and her loved playing together. It as really cute to watch.....

 

As far as new tricks for Ashlee... she is crawling like a crazy thing... will follow me all over the house, and even go exploring by herself :)... she also "cruises" the furniture like a pro....  She can walk by herself, just holding one of your hands, and i bet any day now, she will just let go and walk on her own!  She jabbers ALLLLLLL the time, and seems to love music!  At church, when everyone was singing, she would sing right along.  very sweet!  She also learned how to shake her head "no" .... it is pretty funny... she loves to do it. :)  and also likes to point to different parts on a person's face... especially the nose. :)  She has also learned to "kiss"..... and will do it on command.... i LOVE it, when she kisses me. :)

 

Well, that is about it.  in 2 weeks, she will be 1 yrs old!!  hard to believe a year has already gone by....

well, november is over, and grandma is going home... ashlee is really going to miss her... as will mommy! :(

 

she has been taking such good care of both of us. :)  we have had alot of fun.  ashlee has grown to love grandma alot... and of course, mommy has enjoyed the extra help around the house.... being a single mom is alot of work... but having a daughter like ashlee makes it ALLL worth while! :)

 

she has gotten 2 more teeth.  her "eye" teeth, or whatever they are called.  they are the side ones up top... so i have been calling her my little vampire.  she is also crawling like crazy... the poor cats don't know what to do with her now.. she chases them everywhere!  it is pretty cute.....

and of course, she is cruising around alllll the furniture.  on thanksgiving day, she even took 2 steps by herself on thanksgiving day...

she just gets cuter and cuter every day..,., i'm soo in love wiht her. :)

in the november photo album, you will see pictures we took down at the beach... for our xmas cards. :) i love how they turned out!

 

grandpa and grandma befus also came down and visited us for a week... it was great fun to see them too... i think ashlee even remembered them from our trip home in september... she loved having them here, and they babysat a few days too! :)

 

as you can see in the pictures, ashlee LOVES to read... she spends hours "reading" her books, and loves to have someone help her read them. :)  she is a little bookworm, right after her momma....

 

she is still sleeping pretty well.... for awhile there, she was sleepign with momma alot... just cuz we both loved to cuddle at night, but now she is back to spending most of the night in her crib..., :)

Well, not only was it Ashlee's First Halloween party, but we also found her first 2 teeth!!!  He little bottom ones were poking through. :)  that would explain the week of fussy nights we had had!

She dressed up as a little lady bug for my work party, and enjoyed every minute of it! :)  she loves to be around big groups of people.  she is such a partier already!

 

Then for actual halloween, she dressed up again, and went trick-or-treating at the UTC mall. :)  Isn't that wierd?!?  but here in cali, all the mall stores do it... hand out candy, stickers, ect. :)  it was pretty cool, and we saw some really cute kids in costumes. :)  even saw another ladybug, but of course, not as cute as ashlee!

 

Grandma Judy arrived that weekend also.  She is here for the month of November to help me out with daycare.  So ashlee gets to play with grandma all day!  she is loving it. :)

She is crawling now, which is really cute, but she would much rather walk!  she can move around pretty good, holding on to the future, or your hands. :)

 

She has also started giving baby kisses.  alot of slobber involved, but they are really sweet!  She loves to look through magazines, and when she sees babies, she will kiss their pictures.  it is pretty funny!

 

I need to catch up on posting the pictures.  got the months of september, and october to post.  will do that soon!

 

wow... so hard to believe.  my little girl is 9 months old already!

 

Friday was her "birthday".... which also was her doctor's appt.  She weighed in at 21.1 lbs, and 28.25 inches long. :)  both in the 90%ile or close to it!  such a big girl! but the doctor says she is very healthy, and perfect. :)  which of course, we already knew. hehe!

 

She LOVES to stand right now.  she is pulling herself up on the table and chairs, or by your pant legs. :) and is very proud of herself when she gets up tall. :)  she has also let go and stands by herself for about 5 seconds, before grabbing the table again. :)

 

She also is saying "mama" and "dada" alot more now, and totally babbling away to herself.  it is very cute.  she loves to talk... i wonder where she got that from, eh? :)

 

Ashlee has also taken a BIG liking to the cats.  whenever rumbles or cleetus enters her line of vision, she gets a big grin on her face, and starts to giggle. :)  it is very cute.

so first off, as you can see from the new page title... this blog/webspace is going to be devoted to Miss Ashlee and her life. :)  (if you want updates on me and/or sam - email me).....

 

so let's see..... Ashlee turns 8 months on Sept. 21.  i can't believe it!!! she is such a big girl :)  she has got to weigh over 20 lbs by now. :) she is a little chunker.  but i love it! hehe!  she is babbling away, and loves to talk, and squeal :)  she LOVES to stand up, and even tries to stand and let go of your hands... of course, she usually ends up falling over. :)  she is ALMOST about to crawl... she can assume the position, but doesn't move forward yet..  although she has been pushing herself around backwards for about the last month. :)  we find her stuck in the wierdest places, that she has backed into. haha!

 

Back at the beginning of Sept, Ashlee and momma took a 1.5 week trip to Canada. it was awesome!  we had alot of fun, and ashlee took the plane ride like a champ. :) slept of both flights, each way. :)  and of course, got alot of attention from all the other travellers.  everyone has to come up and talk to her and smile, and play. :)  it is fun!!  It was great to see my family again too... and finally my brother and his wife got to meet ashlee. they loved her.... even uncle todd, who pretends to be such a hard-ass. :)  my stepbro, Uncle Ben and his girlfriend were also home for a weekend, and had fun playing with ashlee.  you can see picks of our trip in the picture albums on the page. :)

 

oh yes, ashlee uttered her first word a couple of weeks ago... "dada"... of course, it was while momma was changing her diaper. hehe :)  and she hasn't said it again since, so sam hasn't gotten to hear it.

 

well, that is it for now, i will try to update the news more frequently from now on....

 

so far, august has been great. :)  the weather is nice and warm... almost too hot.  our apt doesn't have a/c, so this weekend it was 82+ inside!!!! yikes!!!  see following photo of ashlee and sam to see how we survive. haha! :)

 

ashlee is doing well.  growing lots and just being alot of fun. she is developing her own funny personality... and starting to giggle alot.  tonite, she was an airplane and chasing rumbles outside, she was just giggling and giggling. thought iwas hilarious! :)  she also always has big smiles for her daddy when she is eating. :)  like she is SOOO proud of herself. even though there is food everywhere! haha!  her favorite food recently is oatmeal cereal, wiht a little peaches mixed in!  she goes crazy for that!

she has gotten so messy recently, while eating, that she is having numerous baths in the ducky tub. :)  thank goodness, she likes it!  here is also a picture of her in her housecoat, from grandma debbie. :)

 

 

i forgot to post that miss bisous, our middle, furball cat, disappeared at the end of the month....

we are/were very sad..... she had been with me for 6 yrs.

but i hope she found a nice new home where she can be queen. :)

she really hasn't been all that happy since ashlee arrived in our house.

so i guess all in all, it might be for the better, cuz at least i didn't have to make a decision.....

well, it has been awhile since i posted anything.

 

the end of july, brought ashlee's six month birthday!! wow!  time has flown.  she also had her 6th month checkup at the doctors.  it went really well, and the doctor was very happy with her progress. She weighed in at 18 lobs 11 oz (90%ile), length was 26.75 inches (90%ile), and her head was 17 inches around (75%ile)....she got 4 more shots, but was really good about them. only screamed alittle. hehe!

 

let's see.... what else... oh, i think ashlee is starting to wave bye bye. :)  or at least her arms are flying around at the appropriate times. hehe :)  she is also rolling around alot more, and enjoying her tummy time. :)  she is very proficient with her binky, and can grab it and shove it in her mouth at will. it is pretty cute!  she is still pretty happy eating food. :) and is eating like a little pig.

 

sam and i are both doing good. sam is working alot of overtime. makes him tired, but the extra money is nice.

i'm working alot too... enjoying my new group at work.

sam went a padres game with guys from work. san diego lost. bummer!
